One of the most common questions we get from seniors is, “How do we know the status of an application for SOURCE waiver, NOW waiver, or a CCSP waiver? We get this question a lot from our Georgia seniors after they’ve found that they have done as much as they could on their own and have yet to hear back from the program.
Am I on the waiting list?
One of the most common reasons seniors in Georgia haven’t heard back from their respective waiver programs is that they may have been placed on a waiting list. Depending on where the application was submitted and the entity who processed the waiver application, the person could have been placed on the program’s list without their knowledge.
Did someone somewhere drop the ball?
This is also a possibility. There are a lot of moving parts to the waiver application process and a lot of people involved. It is possible that there was a communication problem at some point in the process. This could mean that the application fell under the radar at a particular stage in the process.
Did I get denied or something?
It is also a possibility that there was a denial. The notification could have been missed in the mail. A phone call could have been missed relaying the specifics surrounding the denial for the waiver program application.
So … now what?
